An introduction to the Classical Venturi Flowmeter and its principles
The Classical Venturi Flowmeter is a commonly used device for measuring the flow of a pressurized pipeline. It is a differential pressure flowmeter and is often used to measure the flow of air, natural gas, gas, water, and other fluids. It includes the " contraction section", "throat" and "diffusion section" 3 parts, installed on the pipeline that needs to measure the flow.
The Classical Venturi Flowmeter has the advantages of simple structure, a wide range of applicable working conditions, and easy real-time monitoring. It is used to measure the flow of single-phase stable fluid in closed pipelines and is widely used in many energy and power industries such as gas, electricity, cement, and so on.
It's principle. The new generation of differential pressure flow measuring instrument, its basic measuring principle is the flow measuring method based on the law of energy conservation-Bernoulli equation and flow continuity equation. The Venturi tube consists of a circular measuring tube and a special-shaped core placed in the measuring tube and coaxial with the measuring tube. The radially outer surface of the special core body has a geometric profile similar to the inner surface of the tube of the Classical Venturi Flowmeter and forms a different diameter annular flow gap from the inner surface of the measuring tube.
The throttling process of the fluid flowing through the inner Venturi tube is basically similar to the throttling process of the fluid flowing through the Classical Venturi Flowmeter and the annular orifice. This structural feature of the inner venturi tube makes it free from the sharp edge abrasion and fouling problems similar to the orifice plate throttling during use, and can also affect the velocity distribution gradient of the fluid in the tube before the throttling and various possible existing problems. Non-axisymmetric velocity distribution for efficient flow regulation (rectification), resulting in highly accurate and stable flow measurement.
